A Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) is a critical infrastructure system designed to remove contaminants from domestic and commercial wastewater, including waste generated from households, washrooms, kitchens, and institutional sources. The treatment process is predominantly biological, structured into three major phases: primary treatment (removal of large solids and grit), secondary treatment (biological degradation of organic matter), and tertiary treatment (advanced filtration and disinfection).

Treatment Scheme’s of STP:

1. MOVING BED BIO REACTOR(MBBR)- It is a mainly attached growth treatment process, In this process aeration basing having special plastic carriers that provide a surface where biofilm can grow. The density of carriers are almost equivalent to water and made of polyethylene (PE).

2. MEMBRANE BIO REACTOR (MBR)– It is mainly the combination of biological and membrane-based treatment. The membrane having pore size of 0.03-0.04 micron which are combination of micro filtration and ultrafiltration. It is the advance treatment technology for sewage treatment plant.

3. SEQUENTIAL BATCH REACTOR  (SBR)-  It  is mainly fill and draw type treatment scheme for activated sludge system. In  this system, Wastewater added to a single batch reactor. Treated to remove undesirable components, and then discharged.
